Insurance and Financial Risk (IFR) supports the University of Notre Dame through the strategic management of the University's financial risk transfer programs. This includes:

  • The optimization of purchased insurance and self-insurance and the development of alternative finance solutions;
  • The management of general liability, automobile and property claims, in addition to claim resolution and third-party subrogation;
  • The analysis of insurance and related contractual provisions, the determination of appropriate insurance requirements for external vendors and service providers and management of the University's Insurance Requirements and Indemnification Agreements;
  • The identification of risk and mitigation strategies designed to protect the University community and resources
